Visiting Longview  

Longview is a planned city, 48 miles north of Portland. It is laid out in a hub/spoke design with many diagonal streets and circles. These driving directions are the recommended routes to the Rose Center for the Arts on the campus of Lower Columbia College (LCC). The site was formerly the location of a McDonalds Restaurant. The Rose Center is a “new” two-story building located at the intersection of Washington Way, 15th Avenue and Maple Street, with a prominent façade of brick and glass.  

Parking:  

There is ample, free parking near the Rose Center: along Maple Street and in two on-campus parking lots: Maple Street and 15th Avenue. There are also a “limited” number of handicapped parking spaces at the front entrance of the Rose Center. Please do not park behind the Rose Center rear entrance on 15th Avenue and other “restricted areas,” as you will risk getting a $20 ticket. Parking in the on-campus lots is free after 5 pm on weekdays and all day/evening on weekends and holidays.  

Directions from 1-5 Heading North:  

• Take Longview/Kelso Exit 36 (Highway 432/Tennant Way).
• Head west and continue for about two miles to the 15th Avenue/Oregon Way light.
• Turn right and proceed north to just past Washington Way, a major diagonal street.     You will see the Rose Center and the LCC campus on your left.
• Turn left into the 15th Avenue parking lot, just past a Subway Restaurant on your right. The Student Center is on your immediate left, with an electronic reader board at the entrance. The Rose Center is nearby (see LCC campus map).  

Directions from I-5 heading South:  

• Take Longview/Kelso Exit 40 and turn right at stop onto N. Kelso Avenue. ·         Follow to Cowlitz Way light and turn right onto Cowlitz Way.
• Cross bridge and continue straight onto Washington Way for several lights to LCC campus.
• There are two on-campus parking options:  
          a)  15th Avenue lot: Turn right onto Commerce and go straight onto campus. The Student Center is on your immediate left, with an electronic reader board at the entrance. The Rose Center is nearby (see LCC campus map).  
          b)   Maple Street lot: Turn right onto Maple. The Rose Center is on your right. Turn right into the parking lot just past the Main building (see LCC campus map).   

From the Washington Coast:  

• Take SR 4/Ocean Beach Highway into Longview. Proceed to 15th Avenue.
• Turn right onto 15th Avenue and go past Mark Morris High School to LCC campus.
• Turn right at the LCC electronic reader board into the 15th Avenue parking lot. You will see the Student Center and Admissions Center. The Rose Center is nearby (see LCC campus map).  

From the Oregon Coast:

• Take SR 30 to the Lewis and Clark Bridge into Longview
• After crossing the bridge, go straight on Oregon Way, which becomes 15th Avenue.
• Proceed north to just past Washington Way, a major diagonal street.  You will see the Rose Center and LCC campus on your left.
• Turn left into the 15th Avenue parking lot, just past Subway Restaurant on your right.  The Student Center is on your immediate left, with an electronic reader board at the entrance.  The Rose Center is nearby (see LCC campus map.)
